Dealer Information Policy

Last updated: 27th July 2026

What This Page Is For

This page explains how Matt's Motor Club (“MMC”) works, how we use publicly available market information, and how dealers can engage with us. It is written for dealer principals, sales managers and anyone in the motor trade who would like to understand our service.

We believe transparency works both ways. Our members trust us to be straightforward with them. Dealers deserve the same.

What MMC Is

Matt's Motor Club is a market-intelligence service for UK used car buyers. We help private consumers identify vehicles that may represent genuinely good value by combining publicly available market information, technology, AI-assisted analysis, the MMC Method and human judgement.

We are not a vehicle marketplace, price comparison website, lead generation platform or broker. We do not sell vehicles, facilitate transactions or act as an intermediary between buyers and sellers.

When a member finds a vehicle through MMC that interests them, we direct them to the selling dealer to make their own enquiry and, if appropriate, their own purchase. The relationship is between buyer and dealer. We have no involvement in the transaction and receive no commission, referral fee or financial benefit of any kind from any sale.

How We Work

MMC analyses publicly available vehicle listings and market information from dealer websites and other public automotive sources across the UK. This is the same information that is visible to any member of the public.

Our technology allows us to examine a large volume of publicly available listings at scale, identifying pricing patterns, stock movements and market signals that may indicate an opportunity worth considering. AI assists with assessment and the production of concise vehicle commentary.

Not everything we identify is presented to members. The MMC Method provides a structured framework for filtering, assessing and prioritising vehicles based on the factors that matter most to buyers. Human judgement defines the standards, priorities and framework used to determine what deserves a member's attention.

Each vehicle we feature is accompanied by short, original MMC commentary, typically a few lines explaining why it caught our attention and what a member may want to consider. This commentary is produced using the MMC Method and reflects our honest, good-faith assessment based on publicly available information at the time.

The publicly available listing is an input. MMC's product is the analysis, filtering, market context, interpretation and commentary that helps members understand which vehicles may deserve a closer look, and why.

What We Analyse

Our analysis draws on publicly available information including:

  • Advertised vehicle prices and any publicly visible price changes
  • Listing details such as specification, mileage and photographs
  • How long a vehicle has been publicly listed
  • Publicly visible stock levels and patterns
  • Market pricing context for comparable vehicles
  • Publicly available dealer information from sources such as the dealer's own website, Companies House, the FCA register, Google reviews and Trustpilot

We do not access private dealer systems, internal databases, confidential financial information or any non-public data.

Our observations about market conditions are based entirely on publicly available information and the MMC Method. They should be understood as analysis and commentary on public market data, not as statements about any individual dealer's private business operations, financial position or intentions.

How We Represent Dealers

A vehicle may be featured because our analysis identifies strong value, unusual market positioning or signals that make it worthy of closer attention.

However, the inclusion of a specific vehicle is not an endorsement of the dealership as a whole. We encourage every member to carry out their own due diligence on both the vehicle and the dealer before making any purchase decision.

Where we include publicly available information such as review scores, FCA registration status or Companies House data alongside a listing, we present it factually. We believe this transparency benefits both buyers and the many reputable dealers operating in the UK market.

We do not make claims about any dealer's private finances, internal performance targets, profit margins or commercial intentions. Where our commentary refers to market conditions or pricing context, these are observations drawn from publicly available data and the MMC Method, not insider knowledge.

Accuracy and Timeliness

Vehicle pricing, specification, availability and listing details can change at any time. The information presented to our members reflects what was publicly available at the time of assessment.

We always advise members to confirm all details, including price and availability, directly with the selling dealer before making any commitment or travelling to view a vehicle.

MMC commentary represents our assessment at a point in time. Market conditions evolve, prices change and vehicles sell. Our analysis should be treated as a useful starting point for the member's own research, not as a guarantee of any outcome.

Respect for Source Content

MMC creates a distinct product from the publicly available information it analyses. We take care not to reproduce protected dealer content unnecessarily.

  • Dealer photographs are not reproduced by MMC. We use independently created vehicle imagery.
  • Dealer listing descriptions are not copied. MMC produces its own concise commentary.
  • Dealer logos are not used in a way that implies affiliation or endorsement.
  • Members are directed to the dealer's original listing or website for full source information.
  • Dealers retain full ownership of their own branding, imagery and original listing content.

Our Relationship With the Trade

MMC is funded entirely by member subscriptions. We do not accept advertising, sponsorship, commission or any form of payment from dealers or manufacturers. This independence is central to our service and is something our members value highly.

That independence does not make MMC anti-dealer.

In fact, MMC deliberately focuses exclusively on vehicles sold through dealers rather than private sales. We believe that buying from a dealer offers important consumer protections, including rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, cooling-off periods for distance purchases, and accountability that simply does not exist in a private transaction. We encourage our members to buy from dealers precisely because those protections matter.

We recognise that most dealers are honest businesses operating in a competitive market. Our aim is to help buyers understand market conditions better, not to undermine the trade.

We believe the relationship between well-informed buyers and reputable dealers is a productive one. Buyers who understand the market arrive with realistic expectations, know what they want and are more likely to complete a purchase with confidence. That is good for both sides.

MMC's independence means that when we feature a vehicle, that recommendation carries credibility. It was not purchased, promoted or influenced by the dealer. For reputable dealers offering genuinely interesting vehicles, that independent recognition may be more valuable than a paid advert.

Why Inclusion May Benefit Dealers

MMC's buyer-first independence and dealer value are not contradictory. Reputable dealers offering well-priced vehicles may benefit from being part of the MMC ecosystem in several ways:

  • Exposure to informed buyers. MMC members are actively researching the used car market. When we feature a vehicle, interested members are directed to the selling dealer's own listing or website.
  • No cost. There is no advertising charge, listing fee, referral commission or paid placement. Vehicles are included on merit through the MMC Method.
  • Direct customer relationship. Members contact the dealer directly through the dealer's own channels. MMC does not sit between buyer and seller.
  • Credible recommendation. Because recommendations cannot be bought, a feature carries independent credibility that paid advertising cannot replicate.
  • My Dream Motors opportunities. Dealers within MMC's coverage may be eligible to receive free buyer-matching opportunities through My Dream Motors, connecting them with members who are actively looking for a specific vehicle.
  • Informed buyers. Members who arrive via MMC may have a clearer understanding of the vehicle, the market context and realistic expectations, which can lead to more productive conversations and confident purchases.

My Dream Motors

MMC operates a feature called My Dream Motors, where members describe the exact vehicle they are looking for. Relevant briefs may be shared with suitable dealers who may have a matching vehicle in stock. Dealers can respond through the MMC platform, and we relay the message to the member.

Participation in My Dream Motors is completely free. There are no lead fees, sales commissions or obligations. Dealers within MMC's coverage may be eligible to participate.

Full details, the dealer process and our Dealer Code of Conduct are available on our Dealer Leads page.

Working With Dealers

As MMC develops, we expect to offer reputable dealers additional ways to improve the accuracy and richness of the vehicle information available to our members.

This may include opportunities such as:

  • Structured stock information or availability updates
  • Corrections to publicly available listing data
  • Participation in buyer-matching initiatives
  • Future stock-feed or integration relationships

Recommendations will always remain independent and cannot be purchased or influenced.

These future opportunities are designed to improve data quality for members while giving forward-thinking dealers a more active role within the MMC ecosystem.

For Dealers

If you are a dealer and you have questions about how your dealership or vehicles appear on MMC, we welcome your contact.

Common questions:

  • Why is my vehicle featured? Because our analysis suggests it may represent good value for our members. Vehicles are featured on merit through the MMC Method. There is no paid placement and no way to purchase or influence a recommendation.
  • How did you find my dealership? We are selective about which dealers we include within MMC's coverage. In many cases, our own members suggest dealers they would like us to review. Being suggested by a member reflects well on a dealership and we take these suggestions seriously, although inclusion is ultimately decided by MMC based on our own assessment.
  • Is something factually incorrect? If you believe any information we present about your vehicle or dealership is factually inaccurate, please contact us with the specific details and we will review and correct it promptly.
  • Can I raise a concern about how my dealership is represented? Yes. If you have a concern about how your dealership is described or characterised, please contact us. We will review your concern fairly and respond promptly. We are always willing to correct factual inaccuracies and to consider reasonable requests about representation.
  • Do you share my contact details? No. When we feature a vehicle, we link to the original listing or your website. Members contact you directly through your own channels. We do not share dealer contact information in bulk or for marketing purposes.
  • Are you sending buyers to my dealership? We may be. When we feature one of your vehicles, we are recommending it to informed buyers who may be interested. We direct every interested member back to you to make their enquiry.
  • Can my dealership be added to MMC's coverage? We are selective about which dealers we include. If you would like to be considered, please use the form below to tell us about your dealership.
  • What if a dealer chooses not to be included? Participation in services such as My Dream Motors may depend on a dealership remaining within the relevant MMC coverage or dealer network. Where a dealership is no longer included, services that rely on that coverage may no longer be available.

Reporting a Concern

If you believe that any information presented by MMC about your vehicles or dealership is factually inaccurate, misleading or unfair, please use the form below or contact us directly with:

  • Your dealership name and location
  • The specific content you are concerned about
  • The correction or concern you would like us to consider

We aim to acknowledge your contact within two working days and aim to resolve straightforward factual corrections promptly. For more complex concerns about representation, we will review the matter and respond with our assessment.

We take these contacts seriously and welcome constructive dialogue with the trade.
